Future of the Mobile Web Whitepaper- We're very happy to publish this paper arising from the The Future of the Mobile Web event held at the Dublin Convention Centre in January 2012. We covered a lot of ground and the paper is a serious attempt to capture all the topics covered from HTML5 to responsive design to device detection and many others. We found it to be a very worthwhile process to listen, validate our ideas and learn from others in the process of writing it. We hope it is useful to a wider readership also.

PHP & Apache: the Tools of the Mobile Web- We recently ran a survey on mobiForge with a view to getting a better understanding of the tools and work habits of mobile web developers using our services. A number of you had expressed an interest in seeing the outcome of the survey, so we've compiled the results and created some graphs for your viewing pleasure.

DeviceAtlas 2.1- DeviceAtlas 2.1 brings some VERY exciting features that kept us awake during the last few nights and we hope that the results will also keep you awake at night looking at how you can improve your mobile sites and contents. First the less exciting part, we have made the signup process for Developer licences much easier, now all that is required is to accept the EULA and you're on. We REALLY want everyone to get a licence and get started. We have also streamlined some other portions of the purchase process and we hope this will make the navigation easier for you.

DeviceAtlas 2.0- We're thrilled to launch the new version of our award-winning DeviceAtlas platform. Version 2.0 is a huge step forward for us, and we hope it's going to change the way you think about mobile device information. Since we launched DeviceAtlas at the start of the year, we've been working hard to source mobile device information from all over the world. Take a look at the footer of the site and you'll see the logos of handset manufacturers, mobile operators and leading vendors who've all helped us enormously to do this.

Vertical Search just got better- One of the new goodies we developed for mobiForge was our Vertical Search feature. This search replaces the stock search functionality bundled with the CMS that mobiForge runs on. If you haven't tried it out yet, in a nutshell, Vertical Search combines mobiForge search results with relevant results from various other mobile resource sites from around the web.

Sony Ericsson joins DeviceAtlas- Today we have added a new source to DeviceAtlas and we think it's very exciting. Sony Ericsson via their developer site is officially joining DeviceAtlas providing profiles for their own devices. Check out the P1i for example or the W550i and you will see information from Sony Erisson.

DeviceAtlas 2.0 PREVIEW- Back in June we announced the launch of TA-DA, our own test suite for mobile devices. We followed up with a little tutorial. Despite the summer, the sun and everything else (ok, alright, there is not much sun in Ireland, but we DO go on vacation sometimes) we worked hard in the last couple of months and in fact we are ready to release yet another improvement to DeviceAtlas.

DeviceAtlas 1.3.1, better browser detection and more security- It is July, and you would expect most of the European countries to be on vacation somewhere sunny and hot, but we still took the time to prepare a new release for you. We have a couple of improvements that we wanted to get to you as quickly as possible.

RIP Openwave Mobile Browser- So as we all get spun up in the excitement and wonder over iPhone 2.0, and as Apple appears to continue its ascendancy in the mobile space, I feel compelled to share about a company that’s gone in the other direction. I don’t know if folks don’t care, or there really isn’t any impact as a result of it, but either way I feel inclined to spend some pixels on a recent development.
