dotMobi launches Instant Mobilizer - Fast-track ticket to the mobile Web for small business

Viva la mobile Web. mobiForge’s parent dotMobi has just launched Instant Mobilizer at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. This is a handy tool designed to get small businesses up-and-running on the mobile Internet ASAP, by automatically converting their PC Web site to a mobile-friendly format instantly with no development effort, hosting or site maintenance.
Instant Mobilizer is aimed at small businesses that know they’re missing out on mobile customers, but can’t afford a professionally built mobile site straight off.
If you’re not yet convinced by what the mobile Web can do for your small business, see this brand-new paper from mobiThinking (the marketing arm of dotMobi): Marketing your small business on the mobile Web.
Instant Mobilizer changes the site navigation and format to a mobile-friendly single vertical column. Images are resized per device requirements to prevent downloading delays. Important details are prioritized to the top of the site e.g. logo, phone number (which becomes a click-to-call); while the business street address will automatically generate a Google Map. As the site is converted on the fly, any updates to your PC site will also be changed on your mobile site instantly!
So, why not test your site to see how well it mobilizes.

Hi
Seems very nice and intelligent tool. But I have some questions. I will try to present my question as scenarios:
1. I have a website which is developed by someone. The site looks very nice to me. I am not sure whether the developer of my website followed any coding standard or not. But that is not important to me. I love the look and feel of my website and I dont want to change my current website. I want to take Instant Mobilizer service. Am I sure that the Mobilizer can deliver the Mobile Version of my website in the way I like to see.
2. Is Instant Mobilizer works only with .mobi sites?
3. I believe that for the partners (who are taking the service "I want to offer Instant Mobilizer to my customers") this service is a Value Added Service offering for their customers. The customers will be interested to go with these partners. But how much Instant Mobilizer algorithm ensures that it may give the satisfaction.
4. I assume that most of the websites in the world are not developed as per standard. And in most of the cases concentration is given in look and feel, not in coding standard. So the number of abnormalities will be much more than the normals. How many different cases roughly are covered by Instant Mobilizer algorithm.

Hi, I found your site after reading the Wall Street Journal week of 2/28/2009. LOVE your testing application for new dotmobi domains. Great Job and we look forward to doing business with you. - http://blackboston.mobi (beta) is an emerging African American information portal about Boston, MA.

Hi Muntasir,
You can preview and test your Web site on Instant Mobilizer to see how it will look and function before you purchase it - http://www.instantmobiliser.com/test-your-site.htm. If you like how it looks please visit our partners page and select one of our partners to proceed. You can also preview your site on any of our partner sites and then proceed to purchase your domain and Instant Mobilizer website.
Instant Mobilizer currently only works with the .mobi domain and when you purchase a .mobi domain you get your Instant Mobilizer Web site free for the first year.
There are some limitations to Instant Mobilizer (flash, frames) etc. (see our FAQ's for more information - http://www.instantmobiliser.com/faq.htm). We will add new features and functionality in the coming months as defined by our roadmap.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
Claire

hi! love the concept of instant mobilizer. just signed up through godaddy.
how do i enable it on my site for ssl and password protected pages?
i have a web-based software app, and the ssl, password protected "internal" site is where mobile access will be most valuable.
thanks!!!

For security reasons, InstantMobilizer does not currently attempt to mobilize pages over sensitive connections, so this is not possible I'm afraid.
We have a full FAQ here.
